A Dedicated Defense Appliance

Master Rig 0 is not a standard router. It is a dedicated appliance that plugs into one LAN port on your existing router and acts as your network's DNS filter. There is nothing to install on endpoints, and the only change to your router is pointing its DNS at Rig 0.

Powered by a quad-core ARM processor, Rig 0 answers DNS queries locally and keeps its blocklist in memory for fast lookups. Policies sync live from your dashboard and are cached on the device, so the last known rules keep working if the internet connection drops.

Because Rig 0 answers DNS rather than sitting inline with your traffic, you choose at install how the network behaves if it loses power. Add a secondary DNS server and the network stays online but is unfiltered while Rig 0 is down. Leave it out and filtering never lapses, but name resolution stops until Rig 0 is back.
